- Goods to be shipped into the USA must be properly packaged and wrapped using the right materials.
- Each item must be properly labelled as well, as it is in the packing list required.
- It is important to note that until you have fulfilled all required documentation, some goods may not be imported into USA. To have a stress free import from Nigeria to USA, the following procedures must be adhered to:
- Plan your import.
- Source for your product supplier in Nigeria.
- Note that your supplier must be registered with NEPC as an exporter in Nigeria.
- Supplier drops the goods at the nearest ShiptoNaija drop off location accompanied with required documents.
- Get your GIT (Goods In Transit) Insurance & transport of good to Lagos seaport.
- Pre-export documentation is required.
- SGS or Cobalt would inspect the goods at the warehouse; inform your supplier in Nigeria to make sure this is done.
- Booking of truck & container from shipping line.
- Loading and sealing of container.
- Transport of container to the seaport.
- Inspection of the container by Custom and other relevant agency
- Post-export documentation.
- Exporter forwards the document to his bank
- Exporter’s bank forward the documents to the Importer’s bank
