Container and Break Bulk Shipping to Nigeria

Reliable : Cost Effective : Trusted By Hundreds of Customers

When it comes to shipping items via ocean freight, there are basically two ways in which one can ship; either via containerization or breakbulk shipping. Containerization, also known as container shipping, is basically shipping items in any size of container. It is a very secure way of shipping items from overseas because the items are sealed right from the port and not opened again till it arrives at its destination. There are different kinds of containers, some of the popular ones being top rack, open top and refrigerated containers. ( which is used for transporting temperature sensitive items) Containerized shipping is also a favorite because there is less turnover time at the port and cranes can easily remove and load containers on the ship at fast speeds.
Break-bulk shipping is the system of shipping where items are not put into containers, but are packaged in boxes and bags, and loaded into cargo holds. Normally this method is used when the cargo cannot fit into a container and is typically a shipment of consumer goods. When your ship is going to dock in a port that is not capable of handling containers because they are not deep enough to accomodate larger container ships or don't have cranes that are needed to remove containers from ships, break bulk is the way to go. It is also the go to option for companies who are shipping equipment like windmills, drills and pipes and need to keep these items separated. Just be patient and ready to wait to offload the cargo from the ship one by one.
